so there is a german tradition that the first four sundays you get together and celebrate advent. you get an advent candle which is basically four candles on a wreath and every sunday you get together, light one or more of the candles and sing songs and eat christmas cookies, so here are some pictures of that and some other random pics.....

not much going on this past week...

well i feel like i need to update even tho there isnt anything that has really happened... the past week or so has been slow because sophie was fighting a fever, not sure what it was from but im guessing she is teething,  with a little runny nose. We have been keeping her inside which means i have been inside. But before she was sick  johannes and sophie and i have just spent our weekends at the park and walking around the city. Johannes was working from home last week and now he is in ingolstadt (spelling?) His job has him all over germany and he loves it!!!! And this weekend we are planning to go to the christmas market which is downtown so i will take plenty of pictures. Then for christmas we will be going to switzerland to spend it with johannes family and i am very excited to experience their traditions, but mostly im excited for johannes he hasnt had christmas with his family in like 8 years or longer, hopefully we can go to austria during december sometime and see if we run into krampus... look it up, its fing scary... but the story behind it is that he is the creature that comes and takes away the bad children, you know instead of getting coal in there stocking they get taken away by this freaking creepy monster, anyways johannes has told me stories about how when he was younger he would go hunting them and throw rocks at them. Its really men (most of them drunk) that walk around the city dressed up as krampus and they wear bells with chains and whips and chase after people, whip them (not hard) sounds scary but i really want to go and see what its all about.

Grumpy old men

So lately I have been semi grateful to not fully understand german, because I have encountered some grumpy old men, women as well but when I go to the train stations I prefer to take the escalators because its faster then the elevators which are so freaking slow and crowded.(with old people mind you) But it seems like almost everytime that I go down one of the escalators I get a ten minute lecture on how I need to take the aufzug, (elevators) and how they are over there. ( I have slowly figured out what they are taking about). So when I learn german I will gladly say,"Well old man how about you tell all your old man friends to stop taking the elevator so that im able to actually fit my stroller in there and I will gladly take them!!!". But it works to just tell them, "Ich spreche kein deutsch", shuts them up pretty quickly. haha.  But other then that im loving munchen, and im slowly learning german. Also today I went way out of my comfort zone and took sophie to a class for children where they sing songs in german and I tried my best to sing in german but it was mostly me mumbling pretending to know wtf was going on, everything was going well until sophie being the sweet angel she is went over to a 4 year old many times trying to take her doll from her finally got fed up with her not giving it over, let out some weird scream, smaked the girl in the head, made her cry and walked away with her doll. Kinda funny im not going to lie. I apologized and took my bully of a child home. And other then embarassing myself on a daily basis like dropping a jar of apple sauce at the store, watching it shatter all over the floor and not being able to communicate with the people at the store about it, I have found that in general there are very friendly people that are willing to deal with the tard of an american thats trying to get around in a new country. :) (like the man that was in line behind me and argued with the store cleark that I should be able to get a new one for free, and got me one.) At least I can say my life is never boring. Also Johannes has been out of town since sunday night and I miss him lots, But its not as hard as I made it out to be, we have been able to skype at night and having sophie keeps me so busy during the day. But Im so excited to see him friday night, only 3 more days yay!!!
